War and Hope

War and Hope

War: In Flanders Fields by John McCrae
Hope: There Will Come Soft Rains by Sara Teasdale

The most relevant poem in this day and age from the two poems stated above, in my opinion, would be ‘There will come soft rains’ by Sara Teasdale. In this poem she talks about the peace after the war ends. Whereas the poem ‘In flanders fields’ by John McCrae happens during the war. Since we are living in peace and the war is over ‘In flanders fields’ is harder to associate with, thankfully we are able to associate with ‘There will come soft rains’ morebecause it is hopeful.
